Finally, a race not affected by rain, red flags, stupid crashes or anything else! In fact, all 24 cars were classified finishers, a Formula 1 record! So, back to normal on the GridBids front, and the usual suspects have returned to the front of the field: forzavale pips schueyfan, pmhorrocks and ferrari_fuhrer to the win this week. Long may this return to normality continue! That said, it would be nice if Vettel would accidentally bin his car in the kitty litter sometime soon, but that’s another matter entirely!
A few fun facts for you:
- The best combination of picks, according to my very quick glance at the results sheet, was 65 points, for Vettel, Alonso, Massa, Rosberg, Alguersuari and Sutil;
- Hamilton was the most-picked driver (13 picks), and just like in Canada, didn’t represent a good return for your money – that said, Button was even worse value;
- Most Valauble Pick was Jaime Alguersuari (4 points) according to my spreadsheet – with 8 points in the last couple of races, his value will hit the dizzying heights of 1.6 points this weekend! Massa, at 3.13 points, was next up, but this is more a reflection of his vast under-performance so far this year;
- Erm, no one picked Alguersuari again…

So, that’sĀ forzavale‘s first outright win of the year, having shared the win with ferrari_fuhrer in China, and even more impressively, in sharing second place in Valencia, schueyfan scores his third second place in three races… impressive. This also means he jumps to second in the Drivers’ Championship, with 54 points from Monaco onwards.
Schumistar continues to have a mare, wilkie84 is back to his rear-of-the-field ways and RenaultĀ Renaissance throw away most of the Constructors’ Championship lead by failing to score at all, Forza Ferrari gainingg 17 points on them and re-taking second from the HRT Horror Show.
Silverstone’s up next… get your picks in! Updated standings will be up soon if they aren’t already by the time you read this!
