People who know me well know I like a good challenge. Sometimes, I bite off a little more than I can chew. I don’t think I have on this occasion, but time will tell…
As you may know, I work for Scripture Union Scotland. This summer, I, along with a few other people, will be cycling between their Alltnachriche activity centre near Aviemore to their Lendrick Muir centre in Perthshire. It’s roughly a 120-mile cycle – not for the feint of heart, but hopefully(!) easily within the grasp of a fit young specimen like myself, ahem!
So anyway, I post this for a couple of reasons. Firstly, for the reckless fools brave warriors amongst you, there are still places available on the ride. If you are interested, you can visit the Big Bike Challenge page on the Scripture Union Scotland website. Significant advantages would include the once-in-a-lifetime chance to cycle with me, be very jealous of my nice racing bike, help me repair my inner tube every time I go too fast and get a puncture, explore some lovely countryside, possibly with a few detours thrown in, and, err, oh, you can get pretty fit doing it too!
Secondly, the aim, obviously, is to raise money for Scripture Union Scotland. As such, I have set up a page where you can, if you wish, donate. The page has more information about where the money is going and about Scripture Union Scotland too. It’d be great if you were able to support me with this in any way!
