Priorities
My life is busy. Far, far, far too busy. I need to do less. However, at the same time, I want to take some other, different things on and play more sport than I have done in the last couple of years. Basically, I need to completely reorganise my life. Where better to do this than right on here? Ok, first of all, what do I do right now? Let's see:
- Study politics at the University of Sheffield;
- Run the Baptist Union of Scotland Youth (BUSY) website;
- Run the Hoddesdon Baptist Church website;
- Run the Sheffield Steel Press website;
- Run the most prolific subdomain in Jedimoose history (summers excluded);
- Run the Sheffield Labour Students website and feel a slight hint of irony about it;
- Advisor to / run the UNYSA Sheffield website;
- Very occassional advisor to the Sheffield University Christian Union and Crowded House Sheffield webmasters (damn, I see a pattern emerging here...);
- Member of the Sheffield University Christian Union.
Ok, there's lots of other stuff too, but you get the point. I'm a member of well over 10 societies too, but they don't all see me very often. Basically, I need to spoon off most of those websites too other people, methinks, hopefully only leaving my subdomain and the BUSY website under my control. They take up far too much of my time and, ideally, if there was someone else who could run the BUSY website, I'd sooner spoon that off too. I do it out of necessity rather than because I really have the time / want to spend the time on it. The other reason I want to get rid of these is because I have other priorities creeping up on me:
- The need to get good marks at university from now on, not just marks that give a reasonable pass;
- The desire to play cricket competitively again;
- I want to get involved in The Crowded House's 5-a-side football
- I want to get more involved with Live@215, an event my housechurch at mission group in Sheffield are trying to prioritise
- I want to actually get along to other societies that I belong to, or at least a couple of them;
- FREE TIME! I WANT TO RELAX OCCASSIONALLY!
Oh, and I also forgot: I might be working on a little project too, if I can find the time.... So, how can I best tell all these people they need to find a minion? Oh, and has anyone got a spare cricket bat to replace the one that got smashed into four pieces when I hit a cricket ball too hard in the nets a couple of months ago? It wasn't my bat, either...
